Minncomm has bored under roads, runways, rivers, and other waterways using
Minncomm got into the business of directional boring by installing natural
gas, small diameter copper telephone and fiber optic cable, and soon
graduated to much larger diameter bores such as sewer and water systems.
Vermeer boring equipment. One such bore was required to go under a public
waterway administered by the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR).
This bore turned out to be the largest bore in Minnesota history. Going through
the waterway would not have been feasible because of the DNR's requirement
for strict compliance of environmental standards for protected wetlands.
Minncomm accepted the challenge and successfully completed this project
with minimum impact to the environment, to the delight of all envolved.
